The team…

Legal & Democratic Services are looking to appoint a full-time experienced solicitor to work within the Governance team; which comprises the Council’s Democratic Services team, Member Support team, Electoral Services team, Information Governance team and Corporate Complaints team.

 

 

About the role….                                                                                        

The post holder will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and support to both officers and Councillors on a diverse range of governance, information governance, constitutional and procedural matters. You will deliver strategic insight on constitutional, governance and procedural matters; and on the impact of changes to legislation on the provision of Council services and functions.  You will support the Monitoring and Deputy Monitoring Officers in ensuring that decision-making is informed by and demonstrates the principles of good governance.  You will also work closely with the Data Protection Officer, managing complex issues relating to information governance.

You’ll be paid a competitive salary £46,731 - £49,764 pa
