Teaching Support Assistant Coquet Park First School – Individual Pupil Support KS1
Thursday and Friday 8:45 – 15:20 (193 days)

Required February 2025

The governors of this friendly and happy school wish to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant, who has a passion for supporting children’s learning to enable them to achieve their full potential.

Our KS1 colleagues are committed, energetic and are truly dedicated to providing the highest standards of educational development for all children. Innovation can be seen across our Early Years and KS1 curriculum – take our Forest School for example; an inspirational approach to learning which provides children with the freedom to explore, learn and achieve in a natural outdoor environment.

While this is a post supporting an individual pupil, the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from such a highly skilled team cannot be understated; the experience gained would stand the successful candidate in great stead for future opportunities in education.

This is an excellent opportunity to work not only with a highly skilled team, but also to work within a school which prides itself on ensuring professional development opportunities at all levels to support colleague progression. It would suit many people including talented teaching assistants looking for a new challenge, early career teachers who want to develop professionally and gain a strong foundation in KS1 teaching and learning through on-the-job training and those looking to come back into education.

Please call to arrange a visit or discuss this role.

We invite applications from Teaching Support Assistants who can demonstrate that they:

  •  Are enthusiastic, eager to learn and enjoy working with Early Years and KS1 pupils
  •  Have an excellent understanding of Early Years and KS1
  •  Established constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs.
  •  Supervised and provided particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  •  Promoted the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
  •  Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence
  • Provided feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance of the teacher
  •  Are able to form excellent working relationships with pupils, staff and parents

In addition to the allocated time in KS1, the successful candidate will undertake lunch time duties from 12:00 until 1:00. A wonderful opportunity to be part of the wider school team.
