North Tyneside Council Adaptations and Loan Equipment Service provides over 25,000 of equipment each year, ranging from walking frames, profiling beds to ‘one off’ specialist bespoke equipment. Our aim is to facilitate hospital discharge, avoid hospital admission and enable vulnerable residents to live independently and safely in their homes,
We are proud of the services we provide and are seeking to recruit a committed Equipment Technician; a brief outline of the main duties are:
• Inspection, identification of defects, repairing, maintenance, servicing, testing and certification of Loan equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations, and maintenance manuals.
• Assist with the organising of equipment for delivery.
• The loading and unloading of service, delivery, and collection vehicles.
• Delivery, fitting, demonstration, servicing and collection of loan equipment in service users’ homes in accordance with work schedules
• Ensuring that all equipment is fitted correctly and can be used safely by the service user.
• Maintaining the working/maintenance area and hand and power tools in a safe condition.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person who is a team player but can also work on their own initiative.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and an Enhanced DBS disclosure, including Barred List Check, will be required.
