Salary amounts quoted are from the 1 September to 31 August and therefore if you commence employment part way through the academic year they are subject to an equated salary adjustment

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Cook to join our catering team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by assisting with meal preparation, food health and safety practices, and helping to maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment. The position will be for 20 hours, working 10:30am - 2:30pm Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will assist the Chef Manager in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, helping to maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen. The ideal candidate will be aware of key rules and legislations such as Natasha's law, they will know the correct procedures of storing and organising foods as well as ensuring the appropriate labelling is on food produce.

As an Assistant Cook, you will support the rest of the catering department during busy service periods, ensuring that all necessary supplies are readily available and support serving students via a cashless catering system.

Previous experience working within a kitchen environment, such as restaurants or catering services, is preferred but not essential. Candidates should have a basic understanding of food safety regulations and be able to work effectively as part of a team whilst also being able to take initiative when required.
