An opportunity has arisen for a fixed term role until September 2025 in the First Contact Children's Services team as an Administration Assistant (post specialism Enquiry and Referral Administrator). This is for 14.8 hours. The role be office based at County Hall, Morpeth with some hybrid working.
The successful candidate will join a team of Administration Assistant's and support the First Contact Children's Services Team.
It would be beneficial if the candidate had some experience in Children's Services and was familiar with some of the working systems used e.g ICS / EHM / EMS, Microsoft packages. The role will be varied, fast paced and requires a high degree of accuracy. You will need to be enthusiastic, with a positive, can-do attitude; enjoy supporting those around you; be a real team player and be committed to supporting our frontline staff who strive to give our children and young people the support they deserve for the brightest future they can have.
The main tasks in accordance with the service demands include:
· Processing Safeguarding Referrals.
· Processing Early Help Referrals.
· Making and receiving telephone calls from members of the public, families, and professionals and to advise, direct and signpost to universal services available.
· Prepare & disseminate information from the daily multi-agency triage meeting.
· Prioritise urgent referrals and contact Triage Manager or MASH Team Manager e.g safeguarding concerns.
· Discuss relevant Safeguarding Information over the phone, where appropriate and feedback to Referrers and clients when requested by team manager.
· Provide accurate information on requests received from CAFCASS/Probation/Ofsted etc.
· Liaise with professionals from other local authorities and other agencies.
· Care and attention to detail when inputting sensitive information on to NCC systems.
· Have the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines at all times.
