Further Information
Lifeline Services have been providing award winning support to the residents of Darlington since 1989. The service is looking to recruit a part time Scheme Manager working 20 hours per week.

The Scheme Managers that work in the Lifeline services team are based at the various sheltered and extra care complexes across the town and support tenants to live safely and independently in their own communities.

The successful candidate will need to be approachable with a 'can do' attitude and amongst other valuable skills be encouraging, organised, flexible and have the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately to a broad range of audiences.

A Scheme Managers day is varied with responsibilities relating to building management: monitoring legionella, fire safety, general repairs, site safety etc along with supporting the tenants, their families, carers and the professionals that we can meet daily. Some of the duties include: daily calls, visits, responding to emergency calls within the scheme, facilitating activities and planning events, so someone with strong communication skills and the ability to engage people is vital.

A Scheme Manager must be able to think dynamically and remain calm whilst adapting to the presenting situation and it would be advantageous to have a background of working in a customer facing role with vulnerable clients. You must be confident in the use of databases, Microsoft packages, the use of technology and have a good understanding of GDPR to meet with the administrative requirements of the role.

The rewards for working at Darlington Borough Council go beyond the salary you will receive; we have numerous additional benefits such as:
  • 32 days Annual Leave plus Bank Holidays, with option to purchase additional Annual Leave (pro-rata for part time working)
  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme with option to make Additional Voluntary Contributions
  • Flexi-time scheme
  • Flexible working
  • Generous Maternity, Paternity and Adoption Leave schemes
  • Staff equality forums
