An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Countryside Team for a Countryside Access Ranger. We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced individual to lead on day-to-day maintenance of public rights of way and on delivery of improvement projects.  

Alongside a relevant qualification and experience, you should also have a sound knowledge and appreciation of relevant Public Rights of Way legislation, together with some associated conservation management knowledge and experience.

The scope of the practical work is very broad and will include such tasks as maintenance/repair of footpath surfaces and footbridges, construction projects, drainage work and vegetation management.

The ability to confidently lead groups of volunteers, young people and adults is important. Our Countryside Rangers work with a variety of groups, with a range of needs. Experience of health & safety and risk assessments in relation to working with volunteers and site maintenance would be useful.

To be a success in this role, you will require excellent communication skills, be customer focussed with a flexible approach to work, presenting yourself positively. You will be an innovative problem solver with the ability to develop strong working relationships internally, with partner organisations and with landowners.
