We require a suitably experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join our staff team. You will need to be passionate about working with young people and achieving the best outcomes for them.

You would be expected to deliver direct care which will involve supporting the children to develop, maintain and enhance social, independence and communication skills in partnership with Parents / Carers, Social Worker, Schools, and Health Professionals. As part of your working hours, when required, you will be expected to partake in covering shifts, including weekends, evenings, sleep in duties and waking nights, alongside on call duties.

Your role will involve supporting the home’s manager in the day to day running of the home, supervising staff, completing audits, and representing the home at a range of internal and external meetings and events.

The applicant should have sound knowledge and experience of children’s homes regulations and quality standards, and experience of safeguarding and protecting children and young people. In the absence of the Registered Manager, you will be required to manage the home and delegate accordingly.

Applicants must hold, a Level 3 diploma in Residential Childcare / Children and Young People or a recognised equivalent qualification.  Applicants should have a minimum of 12 months management/supervisory experience in children’s residential services.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and an Enhanced DBS disclosure, including Barred List Check, will be required.
