North Tyneside Councils Housing and Property Services Directorate directly operates an in-house material stores offer, incorporating over 1,400 product lines as well as well as managing its fleet of over 130no vehicles.

The Authority has recently commenced with an ambitious IT project to unify its Housing and Property ITC systems. It is expected you will lead on the new material management workstream, working closely with our Repairs and Maintenance teams as well as the new IT provider to design, develop and implement a system that enhances and improves our services for tenants.  
 
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of construction materials and supplies to and from our main store based in Killingworth, as well as a range of satellite locations across North Tyneside. You will also ensure our van material stocks are fit for purpose and regularly replenished.

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of logistics, including procurement, inventory management, and distribution of materials. The successful applicant will be expected to establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality assurance.

With over 18 main material distributors supplying the Authority across a range of NEPO procurement frameworks, you will lead the team producing tender documentation as well as conducting tender evaluations. 

If you have proven experience in a similar role with a strong knowledge of procurement processes, ICT systems, supply chain management, inventory control, excellent leadership and team management skills then we want to hear from you.
