North Tyneside Council is looking to appoint two enthusiastic and flexible Caretakers.

Based at either North Shields Community Hub and Library or at the Oxford Centre, Longbenton Community Hub and Library, you will provide ancillary support and carry out front-line duties. Candidates must be committed to providing a high quality service to our customers.

Duties include opening and closing buildings, basic maintenance and repair of buildings and outside areas, setting up rooms for community use, providing excellent customer care to customers, porterage, reception and basic financial and administration procedures and use of the Council computer system.

You should have basic maintenance and repair skills and be able to carry out manual handling such as moving furniture, trolleys and boxes. You should also possess good inter-personal and ICT skills.

North Shields Community Hub and Library hours are Monday to Thursday between 8:00am- 6:15pm.

Oxford Centre, Longbenton Community Hub and Library hours are;
Week 1 and 3 Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday between 7:15am-4:30pm
Weeks 2 and 4 Wednesday, Thursday, Friday between 7:15am- 3:00pm.
