In June 2023, North Tyneside Adult Learning Service were officially recognised by Ofsted as offering outstanding High Needs provision in our Ignite Your Potential study programme with outstanding leadership and management across the service. Our team deliver learning throughout the Borough across a very diverse range of learner groups, courses and venues.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for 2 x skilled SEND specialists to join our exceptional tutor team delivering learning for study programme learners with EHC plans within our highly successful, flagship preparation for adulthood programme, Ignite Your Potential. The successful candidate will deliver a range of skills for life such as employability and personal & social skills suited to your background, experience and expertise. You will assess learning against accredited qualification specifications and through RARPA frameworks as appropriate to the learner and their identified study programme.

Our ideal candidate will hold teaching and/or assessing qualifications with SEND specialism and vocational/ sector specific qualifications appropriate to a skills for life curriculum. With embedded teaching experience and considerable background working with learners with SEND and EHC plans, you will utilise your experience of teaching life skills such as employability &/or personal & social skills to support and sustain high rates of positive progression for our learners. 

The Adult Learning Service take pride in offering learner-centred, innovative programmes which empower students to make rapid progress with outstanding behaviours and attitudes to learning and each other. This appointment offers a unique opportunity to join our exceptional team, working within a highly successful service to develop and deliver programmes in partnership with our North Tyneside community and employers.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate, in their application form, practical examples of how they fulfil the person specification.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and an Enhanced DBS disclosure, including Barred List Check, will be required.
