Here in Gateshead, we are driven in our pursuit to achieve a better quality of life for our residents, and we have an exciting opportunity to join our brilliant team whose ambition is to deliver on the promises we make to our communities through the Council’s broader Thrive Policy Framework, to reduce inequality.
Locality working supports new strategic and operational arrangements to develop across the public and voluntary sectors. Partnership working and planning at a locality level supports the development of shared priorities that make the best use of resources and in response to local needs.

About the role….
We are seeking a Locality Connector who shares our commitment to reducing the levels of inequality in our communities by working in a strength-based, person and organisational centred way.
As a Locality Connector in Gateshead you will help to facilitate grass root problem solving and take an asset-based approach to building and connecting communities to become stronger and resilient.
You will work collaboratively with local authorities, voluntary sector partners, health agencies, faith groups and businesses to solve problems early for individuals and communities through blended approaches. You will facilitate a shared understanding of strengths in the local community to support health and wellbeing priorities and to reduce inequality. You will support stakeholders to identify, access and develop their community assets by encouraging communities to recognise and make use of individual skills and other community resources, enabling connections between individuals of all cultures and backgrounds to promote a more integrated and resilient community environment.
