There is an opportunity to work within the Waste Management section of the Development, Neighbourhoods & Regulatory Services Department as a Waste & Resources Commercial Services Officer. The role involves the day-to-day operational management of the Household Waste Recycling Centre, Transfer Station, Waste Removal Services and Trade Waste Services.
The main duties for this post will include:
• The implementation of pre-determined working systems and procedures to ensure that services are operated safely, compliantly and to specifiedstandards
• The recording and reporting of information
• Facilitating inspections from outside agencies, such as the Environment Agency
• planning, directing and supervising the teams and physical resources within the service area to include recruitment, site inductions and allocation of work
• Maximising the amount of waste that is separated for re-use or recycling
• Developing and expanding the commercial waste services
• Supporting the Environmental Services Manager and Waste Services Team Leader in the delivery of aspects of their roles
The post holder will be required to undertake relevant competency qualifications if they don't already hold them and renew or refresh these as required.
