St Peter’s Catholic Primary School is based in Low Fell, Gateshead. We are proud to be part of the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust, a family of secondary, middle, primary and first schools in Durham, Gateshead, Northumberland and Sunderland. Bishop Wilkinson is the largest catholic education trust in the North East of England, which will have a total of 48 schools. This is an exciting time to join our supportive, and growing team. 
 
We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional Class Teacher to join our team in September 2025.
 
We are seeking an individual to:
  • Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils. 
  • Facilitate a learning experience which provides pupils with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
  • Monitor and support the overall progress and development of pupils as Class Teacher.
  • Support and contribute to the school’s responsibility for safeguarding children, in line with the Keeping Children Safe in Education Policy. 
  • Adhere to the SEND Code of Practice. 
  • Direct and supervise the work of the support staff in the classroom, to ensure that they are progressing the learning of pupils at all times. 
  • Set high expectations for pupils’ behaviour and maintain a good standard of discipline through well-focused teaching, fostering positive relationships and implementing the school’s behaviour policy and systems. 
The successful candidate will have:
  • A highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed approach to make a significant contribution to the learning and development of our pupils as a classroom.
  • Resilience and an ability to reflect on own practice and take on board advice constructively.
  • Key Stage 1 and 2 experience.
  • High personal academic achievement.
  • The ability to teach children of varying ages and stages of development effectively.
  • The knowledge and understanding of the monitoring, assessment, recording and recording of pupils’ progress
