We are excited to advertise an opportunity for an Assistant Structures and Asset Engineer working in the Transport, Engineering and Highways team. This is an exciting time to join the service at Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, as we are currently expanding the team to strengthen our strategic and technical capacity to deliver the significant capital budget we have allocated to highway structures.
The postholder will assist in developing effective structures and asset management processes to enable development of medium and long term capital maintenance programme including commissioning and supervision of condition surveys.
The postholder will support the Senior Structures and Asset Engineer in positively contributing to the achievement of the Council and Service core values and strategies.
The key purpose of this job is to assist in the survey, scope, design and delivery of the annual structures programmes for the Council and support the Senior Structures and Asset Engineer to develop a cohesive highway structures service that provides joined up and co-ordinated responses to customers of the Council and external customers.
The postholder will ensure that schemes and other engineering works are delivered within a changing financial envelope and with a continued focus on value for money to the most up to date standards. The postholder will maximise the benefit to service users from the resources available.
