Further Information
The Educational Psychology Team is a very well respected, dynamic and creative service recognised both in Hartlepool and regionally in the North East. We are delighted to be able to advertise a permanent contract in our thriving and inclusive team. We are looking to appoint a Specialist Senior EP to take a leading role within the area of Social Emotional and Mental Health needs, including providing direct support to the Local Authority’s Horizon provision (Pupil Referral Unit) and SEMH Alternative Provisions including our new EBSA base.
The successful candidate will be a member of the Educational Psychology Team’s Senior Leadership, helping to support the Principal Educational Psychologist in the implementation of the vision, strategy and core values of the team. The role will also involve supervising other staff as necessary and negotiating appropriate Service Level Agreements, contributing to the management and delivery of a consistent, effective and financially viable Educational Psychology Team.
We have well established SLAs with schools in the borough, many of whom buy a session a week. Such regularity of input lends itself to our plan-do-review model of service delivery, with consultation and assessment leading to meaningful intervention over time.In addition, this leads to opportunities for creative and varied work at the individual, group and whole school level.
We are currently engaged in a number of DfE pilot projects including SEND and AP Change Programme, ELSEC, PINS and APST, giving EPs a range of experience in providing advice and guidance, supporting workforce development and engaging in direct intervention.
We work hard to promote positive relationships and support wellbeing for all. This is established through a hybrid working pattern that brings flexibility and life/work balance alongside all the positives of being closely connected and a sense of belonging within a positive team.
Hartlepool is a vibrant and energetic town with growing prospects. As an authority we are Outstanding, and this is reflected in the services we offer. We want to continue to make Hartlepool the best it possibly can be with dedicated, driven and committed staff to help us achieve that. The challenge to think and plan together to find new and exciting possibilities, within a professionally robust framework, is constant in the Educational Psychology Team. Our time is not constrained by statutory processes, rather it is informed by intelligent and considered reflections about ways forward to improve outcomes for children and young people.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. As such these posts are subject to safer recruitment measures and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks are therefore required.
