Required from 30th June 2014 OR 1st September 2014 until the working day before the substantive post holder returns. This post will last for duration of maternity leave (date of return not yet confirmed but may be up to 31 August 2015).

The Governors of this good and continually improving school, seek to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to teach in the Reception class for the duration of a maternity leave. (This will include responsibility for the start of a new academic year and the delivery of the EYFS assessment procedures required). The successful candidate will become part of a committed team who have high expectations and demonstrate a caring attitude towards our children’s academic and pastoral development. We are looking for someone willing to take a full and active role in school life. The maternity leave is planned to start on Monday 30th June and is not open to job share. If the successful candidate has a Summer term teaching commitment, then a start date of 1st September 2014 can be agreed.

The successful candidate must:
• Be an enthusiastic, creative and excellent practitioner.
• Have high expectations for all children, motivating and engaging them in the learning process.
• Demonstrate experience of teaching the Reception age group and have a full understanding of current EYFS assessment procedures as well as outstanding teaching strategies.
• Be prepared to make a valuable contribution to our school with a desire to be involved in all aspects of school life.

Essential Qualifications:
Degree/PGCE
Qualified teacher status

Essential Experience:
Reception class teaching experience

As a Rights Respecting school we would expect applicants to have an understanding of the UNCRC as promoted by UNICEF.

Shortlisting: We anticipate shortlisting will take place on Thursday 22nd May.

Interview Date: We have set a provisional interview date for Friday June 6th (this date will be confirmed following shortlisting). Interviewees will be expected to be observed teaching as part of the interview process.
