This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker. The postholder will be based at SEND Team office Belmont Junior School within a multi-professional team supporting children with sensory needs. You will be expected to represent the Service at specialist information giving events. The Inclusion and Achievement SEND Team within Durham County Council provides a Countywide service to children and young people who have a hearing impairment and their families, including attendance at short breaks and occational evening visits to promote parental choice.

Applicants must have a relevant professional qualification in social work, substantial experience and be registered with the HCPC. You will hold a Level 1 qualification in British sign language.

You will also have significant experience in the safeguarding of Children and Yound People as well as substantial experience in Child Protection or generic social work and working with children and/or young people who have a hearing impairment.

You will bring with you a proven track record of success, be able to effectively communicate in a multi agency environment, be confident in assessing and have the ability to risk manage complex situations. The work is therefore varied and challenging.
