Further Information
Electoral Services are looking to recruit four Visiting Officers on a temporary basis in readiness for the change to the way electors are registered for voting purposes. The main priorities of these posts are to encourage and to help people to register to vote and this will require the successful candidates to make home visits, therefore, we require individuals who can deal tactfully and communicate clearly with members of the public. The post holder should possess excellent administrative and computer skills with a high level of accuracy. Candidates will need to organise their own work load and be able to work under pressure to meet statutory deadlines. Applicants should have access to a car or means of mobility support (if driving then they must have a current valid driving licence and appropriate insurance). In line with the County Council's Recruitment & Selection Policy, please note that we are unable to accept CV's. Any information provided on CV's will not be considered for short-listing purposes. For further information regarding this vacancy please contact Lesley Gwillym on 03000 261202 or email lesley.gwillym@durham.gov.uk or Linda Spence on 03000 261203 or email linda.spence@durham.gov.uk.
