Maternity Cover - Foundation Stage, temporary until 31st August 2015 or the day before the substantive postholder returns.

The Governors at St Oswald’s CE VA Infant & Nursery School are seeking to appoint a high quality, inspirational and outstanding teacher to join our team to cover a maternity leave. The teacher will work in our Reception Class. The post is to commence as soon after September 2014 as possible, until 31st August 2015 or the day before the substantive postholder returns.

The successful candidate will become part of a committed team who have high expectations and demonstrate a caring attitude towards our children’s academic and pastoral development. Our pupils need a teacher who will take an interest in them as individuals and who will ensure that they make excellent progress by making learning exciting and memorable.

The successful applicant will be an outstanding Foundation Stage practitioner who is able to demonstrate skills in the following areas:
• Evidence of working across the Foundation Stage age range as an experienced Teacher.
• Knowledge of the principles and practice of the EYFS
• Evidence of exemplary classroom practice demonstrating a passionate commitment to both the academic and pastoral welfare of children;
• Evidence of outstanding teaching ( or at least good)
• Experience of successfully using ICT to support Teaching & Learning;
• Experience of leading a subject ;
• Hold high expectations of pupils and a strong commitment to raising standards;
• Be an inspiring teacher with a desire to make learning exciting, memorable and fun;
• Have the enthusiasm and skills to deliver a creative curriculum;
• A sense of humour and willingness to work as part of a team;
• Have a commitment to the whole life of the school, including providing extra-curricular activities;
•A good working knowledge of Special Educational Needs and appropriate interventions;
•A clear understanding of behaviour management principles;
•Able to uphold the Christian ethos of the school

Essential qualifications required:
* Degree status or equivalent
* Qualified Teacher Status
* English & Maths GCSE grade A-C or equivalent

Visits can be arranged at the following times : Monday 8th September 2014 at 1.30pm & Wednesday 10th September 2014 at 11.00am.
