Reporting to the Community and Animal Health Manager, you will be instrumental in delivering an effective, efficient and customer focussed animal health and welfare service throughout County Durham, working in partnership with key regional and local agencies to prevent outbreaks, or incursions of animal disease within our rural communities, and safeguarding the wellbeing of animals in designated licensed establishments.

With detailed knowledge of appropriate legislation and centrally issued guidance, you will undertake risk based, proactive inspections, and respond to valid service requests, in relevant farmed livestock premises, and licensed welfare establishments, to ensure that prescribed standards are being complied with, and detailed records are being compiled and maintained.

You must have experience in the relevant service area(s) the ability to organize and prioritise your own workload.

Essential Qualifications:
NVQ Level 4 qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject.
