We are currently looking to recruit eight Relief Neighbourhood Wardens.

We need enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals who will be responsible for delivering a first class service out in the community. The aim of the service is to improve the lives of our residents by providing Safer, Cleaner, Greener neighbourhoods. With excellent communications skills, you will take an interest in community involvement and have the ability to deal with difficult situations including taking action on environmental crime and anti-social behaviour.

Although we try to resolve many issues through education and engagement, you will regularly be expected to take enforcement action against individuals including issuing fixed penalties and other legal notices.

The relief Wardens will be provided with the same training and have the same responsiblities as the permanent team; however, they will only be called on to work specific days to provide cover or to temporarily increase staffing levels (payment is on a day rate basis at the same grade as permanent staff).

You must have a flexible approach and be able to work a shift pattern including evening and weekends.

Access to a car or means of mobility support is essential (if driving then you must have a current valid driving licence, appropriate insurance & a minimum of 6 months driving experience following passing your vehicle test to be eligible to drive a County Council vehicle).

The successful applicants for these posts will be required to apply for a Disclosure & Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure. Also a NPPV (Non Police personnel vetting) Disclosure.

Required qualifications: 5 GCSE's at Grade C or above including English or equivalent in a relevant subject.

It is anticipated that interviews will be held on 8/9/14.
