The Head Teacher and Governors of our school seek to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Teaching Assistant commencing 1st September 2014 for one school year.

Key Responsibilities: to support the delivery of teaching and learning activities of high quality and levels of interest. To support groups of children of varying abilities, to take a full and active role in the preparation of plans alongside the teacher and ensure that appropriate feedback is provided to enhance learning opportunities. To use assessment for learning techniques as an effective tool for all.

Responsibilities:
• To support in a variety situations, including small and large groups as well as individuals. To maintain records as appropriate and liaise closely with other team members to ensure rapid progress for all children in these learning situations.
• To assist teachers in the planning of educational activities for varying groups of children.
• To assist teachers in the preparation of resources, displays and anything else that can be considered vital in the maintenance of a high quality teaching and learning environment.
• To undertake appropriate training for the role as prescribed, both within the school and externally.
• To work as an active member of our school team and assist in the development of strong, cohesive links between school and the home environment.
• Such other duties as may be required from time to time as commensurate with the grading of the post.

Essential Qualifications:
A Teaching Assistant qualification at NVQ Level 3
Good literacy and numeracy skills

Essential Experience:
Recent experience of working in a school environment
Experience of planning and evaluating learning activities
Experience of planning and evaluating learning for individuals, groups and whole class
Experience of working with a variety of groups of children, particularly in KS2
Experience of leading interventions

The Postholder would report to the class teacher as Line Manager on a daily basis.
