This is a key post within the school and will form a strategic role in our Senior Leadership Team.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and exceptional mathematician to lead one of our strongest departments. The successful candidate will be a motivated and inspirational teacher and will be the strategic lead for maths and pupil premium. You will possess a strong commitment to raising achievement and standards along with an informed and creative approach to curriculum delivery.

The school has made rapid improvement since January 2012 and in March this year Ofsted judged Wellfield to be a ‘Good’ school.

As part of BSF the school has just undergone an £8.5 million refurbishment so facilities are state of the art. It is situated only 8 miles to the east of Durham City and is well located for access to the A19 and A1(M). It is also within comfortable driving distance of affordable housing and areas of outstanding natural beauty. We also benefit from a Beacon Nursery in the village.

Essential Qualifications:
• Degree in maths, maths based subject or B Ed
• Qualified Teacher Status
