This post is based within Chester View Extra Care Scheme in Ouston.
Chester View is one of a number of extra care development comprising of self-contained flats, as well as a wide range of on-site facilities. The flats are designed specifically for older and disabled people. Durham County Council provides 24 hr on site care and support.
Extra Care endeavours to encourage tenants to live as independently as possible, including supporting tenants with everyday tasks such as housework, laundry and the making of light meals, if the help is needed.
The postholder will be required to assist with the co-ordination and day to day running of the service, ensuring that the appropriate level of care and support is provided, by the promotion of independence enabling the service user to remain in their homes for as long as possible.
Required Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 Social Care Awards or equivalent Care qualification.
Interviews to be held on 16/10/14.
