This post is aimed at people who have had extensive experience in Childrens Statutory Social Care, particularly at a senior manager level. There are two specific elements to the post, which the successful candidate will undertake when required over the fixed term period of two years from appointment.

1. You must be fully familiar with the role and responsibilities of social workers in Childrens Services who manage statutory cases, both child protection and looked after children and the expectations and competencies required by the HCPC and College of Social Work. You will be responsible for chairing Social Work Progression Panels alongside colleagues in Learning and Development and other senior managers to assess the capability of social workers to work at a progressed level.

2. You must have had experience of managing childrens cases, making decisions regarding the appropriateness of Care Plans and have a good understanding of the Care Planning and Adoption Regulations to fulfil the task to Quality Assure Child Permanence Reports and make recommendations to the Adoption Agency Decision Maker. You will also be offering guidance and direction to social workers who are completing these reports. You must be qualified under the Adoption Agency Regulations 2013 to undertake this role.
