Temporary until 31/03/2015 (subject to change) or until the return of the substantive post holder.

The successful post-holder will become part of a small number of social workers working within social care direct. In order to meet service user and other customer requirements in line with organisational standards and procedures it is expected that the sucessful post-holder may at times be required to work within the Multi agency safeguarding Hub based at Pity Me.

We are looking for an individual with experience in a Health or Social Care setting and of working with client groups serviced by the Team. The individual will need to have a good knowledge of adult safeguarding and be able to work confidently alongside the police and other partner agencies.

Duties of the post include responding to all enquiries from members of the public or people from other agencies particularly in relation to safeguarding or vulnerable adult concerns. These queries may require the officer to deal with the enquiry via a number of alternative methords other than telephone and it is expected that the individual will have good IT and communication skills to enable then to undertake these duties.

Required qualifications:

Professional qualification
Degree in SW, Dip SW, CSS or CQSW or equivalent
(HCPC registration)
N.B. Social Workers are expected to undertake Practice Teacher training and take a student after completing 2 years at post-qualifying level
