This is a temporary post to cover maternity leave until the day before the return of the current postholder.
The Behaviour Intervention Team provides support to children and young people with complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties in schools across County Durham. The team work in partnership with schools, parents/carers and other agencies to promote inclusive practice, reduce incidents of fixed term and permanent exclusion and improve the social and emotional outcomes of children.
The postholder will work 2.5 days per week (days negotiable).
An enthusiastic and skilled practioner is required to provide support to children who display social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and/or challenging behaviour; and who are at risk from permanent exclusion from School.
The postholder will be required to work across all Key Stages.
Experience of working with children who demonstrate challenging behaviour is essential as is a sound knowledge of behaviour interventions which support the social and emotional development of children and young people.
Essential : NNEB, Local Qualification in Youth and Community Work, Cache Diploma, NVQ Level 3 (Social Care), BTEC National (Youth and Social Care) or equivalent in a related area of study
