Maths Specialist-to work across KS1/KS2 to provide additional support for children with a wide range of abilities (The role will include some whole class teaching as well as small group interventions)
The Governors and Head Teacher are looking for a dynamic and highly skilled Maths specialist to join our team. We are a good school who are constantly striving to improve the quality of teaching and learning to enhance our current provision.
The successful applicant must:
• Be an outstanding classroom practitioner who has had a minimum of 3 years class based experience across both KS1 and 2.
• Have a proven record of teaching outstanding Maths lessons.
• Have a clear understanding of what constitutes outstanding teaching and learning and be able to communicate this to others.
• Be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of a range of intervention strategies which have been used successfully to support children’s mathematical abilities at all levels.
• Have high expectations of children’s learning, attainment and behaviour.
• Demonstrate a caring attitude towards our children’s academic and personal development.
• Have the ability to inspire and support colleagues.
• Show a commitment to the whole life of the school and to offering extra curricular activities.
• Be enterprising, hardworking and professional.
• Some experience of working in Y2/Y6 delivering booster class would be desirable.

Essential Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status
Visits to the school are strongly encouraged and can be made by arrangement with the Head Teacher.
Those applicants who are selected for interview will be observed teaching Maths in their current setting. (If this is not possible applicants will be asked to teach a Maths lesson at Seaham Trinity Primary ).
Shortlisting will take place week commencing 3rd November 2014 and interviews are expected to take place week commencing 17th November 2014.
