The Governors of Wellfield School are committed to providing outstanding food for all of our children and maintaining high nutritional standards whilst offering delicious, healthy and satisfying menu choices.

The successful candidate will have previous catering management experience and provide leadership to an established catering team. You will be expected to have hands-on involvement in supervising food preparation and presentation.

Candidates should have:
• Relevant qualifications at a level equivalent to at least National Qualification Framework Level 3, eg HND or NVQ level 3 in hotel and catering.
• Food hygiene qualification (advanced preferred)
• Management/supervisory experience in a catering environment
• Willingness to work hard as a team player


Wellfield has just had an £8.5million refurbishment as part of BSF which was completed at the end of the summer term, so facilities are state of the art. It is situated only 8 miles to the east of Durham City and is well located for access to the A19 and A1(M). It is also within comfortable driving distance of affordable housing and areas of outstanding natural beauty. We also benefit from a Beacon Nursery in the village.
