An opportunity exists to join a small team of dedicated Safeguarding Adults Lead Officers. This may prove to be an excellent professional career development opportunity for the right person. The successful candidate will benefit from the support available via a wider specialist safeguarding and practice development service.

The post will act as Lead Officer in the co-ordination of Safeguarding Adults cases. This involves determining the level and scope of intervention following the receipt of Safeguarding Adults referrals. The Lead Officer takes responsibility for chairing strategy meetings and subsequently for co-ordinating any investigative actions. The workload currently focuses cases connected with residential, nursing and supported living provisions in partnership with key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be expected to have an excellent understanding of current systems and legal frameworks relating to Safeguarding Adults and will be required to be proactive in increasing and sharing their knowledge and understanding within the context of fulfilling their duties and responsibilities. It is anticipated they will have prior experience acting in a similar role, or considerable experience in contributing to the Safeguarding Adults investigative process.

Required Qualifications: DipSW or recognised equivalent Social Work Qualification or equivalent in health care i.e. nursing. HCPC or other relevant registration
