Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums is embarking on a large-scale programme of exhibitions and events to commemorate the 100th anniversary of WWI. Delivered in partnership with Sunderland Museums and Heritage, ‘Wor Life 1914-18’ will explore the contribution of Tyne and Wear to the First World War and delve into the War’s effect on the region. The impact of the War will be showcased through a series of art and history exhibitions, community projects, local history displays, commemoration events plus a unique mobile phone app.

You will carry out a discrete piece of work as part of the centenary commemorations of World War 1 and will be responsible for ensuring that all elements of the project keep community engagement at their heart. You will work with colleagues across TWAM to ensure that the community engagement elements of the programmes are delivered to a consistently high quality, and that communities feel fully engaged in the programme. You will also be responsible for managing the expectations of communities as the programme progresses.
