The Governors of St John’s Primary School are looking to recruit an experienced professional to manage the delivery of a range of sports and leisure activities from our new community sports facility, opening late May 2015.
Reporting to the School Business Manager and the school’s Lead Teacher for Sport, the Community Sports Development Officer will:
• Assist the School Business Manager with the effective day-to-day operation of the sports facility, including the supervision of staff and customers, the operation and control of all plant and equipment and undertake key holder responsibilities.
• Assist in the overall development and delivery of sports and leisure programmes both for the school and the wider community, taking a lead role in coaching sessions, as appropriate.
• Develop and maintain effective and positive working relationships with all relevant partners and community organisations, for example schools, sports facilities, local authorities, community organisations.
• Assist in the procurement of additional resources for community programmes, including identifying opportunities for accessing grant aid, sponsorship and any other appropriate form of income generation.
• Maintain a healthy, safe and secure environment and act in accordance with the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
We are looking for someone with experience of developing and running sports and leisure programmes, who has worked with a broad range of service users. The successful candidate will hold a relevant leisure management qualification and will demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development.
