Culture & Sport will provide services from the East Durham and South Durham hubs and is currently recruiting a number of enthusiastic, experienced individuals who have a varied background in community development work and health promotion.

An opportunity has arisen to employ a team of Wellbeing Development Officers to liaise with the community and facilitate a number of wellbeing interventions.

As an enthusiastic self-starter you will need to display a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills and an ability to work within a multi-agency delivery team. You will be comfortable in delivering in small and large group settings and be able to provide accurate information to encourage positive behaviour change when necessary. Your work will be conducted within the community, accessing established groups and individuals to achieve the targets of the programme. You will also be expected to work closely with our delivery partners as part of your normal working practice.

Candidates must hold, as a minimum, an NVQ Level 3 qualification in a related field and have experience in liaising with communities to coordinate and deliver a range of health promotion activities tailored to meet client needs. You must also be willing to undertake further training relating to the post and be expected to process and collate statistics relevant to the outputs of the programme.

Required Qualifications:

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a related area.
Health Trainer Level 3 Certificate, or a willingness to work towards this.
NHS Health Check qualification, or a willingness to work towards this.
