Durham County Council Culture & Sport forms part of a new and exciting consortium of local partner organisations that has been commissioned to deliver Wellbeing for Life, a new service that will be delivered from 3 distinct hubs across County Durham with a focus on improving the health and wellbeing of targeted populations. Culture & Sport will provide services from the East Durham and South Durham hubs and is currently recruiting a number of enthusiastic, experienced individuals who have a varied background in community development work and health promotion.

An opportunity has arisen to employ two Volunteer and Skills Co-ordinator’s to oversee the recruitment, support and development of volunteers within the service to promote and enable wellbeing within the community.

As an enthusiastic self-starter you will need to display a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills and an ability to work within a multi-agency delivery team. You will be comfortable in small and large group settings and be able to provide accurate information to encourage positive behaviour change when necessary. Your work will be conducted within the community, accessing established groups and individuals to achieve the targets of the programme. You will also be expected to work closely with our delivery partners as part of your normal working practice.

Candidates must hold, as a minimum, a NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in a related area and have experience in mentoring and supporting volunteers. You must also be willing to undertake further training relating to the post and be expected to process and collate statistics relevant to the outputs of the programme.

Required Qualifications:
NQV level 3 or equivalent qualification in a related area.
