We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic person to cover for absent teachers. The post holder will also be expected to compile and maintain pastoral data for pupils, including behaviour and attendance. In addition to this the post holder will create displays around the school in conjunction with teachers and other members of the support staff.

Candidates should:

• Hold relevant qualifications at a level equivalent to GCSE Grade C and above including Maths and English. Ideally candidates will also hold the HLTA or equivalent qualification.
• Have a minimum of two years’ experience of working with children (either paid or unpaid capacity) in an education setting.
• Have excellent organisational skills.
• Have sound IT skills.

Wellfield was judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted in March 2014.

The school recently underwent an £8.5million refurbishment as part of the Building Schools for the Future programme. It is situated only 8 miles to the east of Durham City and is well located for access to the A19 and A1(M). It is also within comfortable driving distance of affordable housing and areas of outstanding natural beauty. We also benefit from a Beacon Nursery in the village.
