Children’s Services are looking for an exceptional and experienced social worker to manage our Child Protection team based in Spennymoor. You will provide supervision and leadership, enabling excellent practice to flourish.

To be the right person for this role you will:

• Be an experienced social worker with a minimum of 3 years post qualifying
experience with children and young people (including significant
experience in child protection/care proceedings/care planning)
• Want to make a real difference to the safety and well-being of children and
young people in Durham
• Share our vision and ambition.
• Be able to remain calm and focused in challenging situations
• Be able to motivate and inspire others to achieve high standards
• Be passionate about making a difference

To be apply for this post you must:

• Hold a degree or post graduate diploma in social work, or equivalent social
work qualification, for example the Certificate of Qualification in Social
Work (CQSW), Certificate in Social Services (CSS) or Diploma in Social
Work (DipSW)
• Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Have at least 3 years post qualification experience in social work with
children and young people
• Undergo Police Vetting, which us in addition to the Disclosure and Barring
Service (DBS) Enhanced Disclosure
