A cook who will also perform some domestic assistance is required for the PACC (Learning Centre) which is located at Aykley Heads close to the Durham City centre. PACC is a small alternative education school for up to twenty 14-16 year olds who have very challenging social and behavioural difficulties – it is essential, therefore, that applicants are committed to working in an environment with challenging young people.

The cook will be required to prepare some pre-prepared food and cook some meals for the students and team of staff – this may be up to 30 meals per day. The cook will also clear away after an earlier breakfast serving and also load the dishwasher, do some washing up and clearing away of items.

The hours will be from 10am until 1pm daily during term-time only.

This position is paid whole time with retainer adjustments applied to periods of school closure. You will not be required to work during the school closure periods however your salary in these periods will be adjusted accordingly in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement.
