The Governors of Benfieldside Primary School wish to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated person to supervise pupils during the lunchtime period (11:45 am to 1.15 pm). The successful candidate will have experience of working with children and of working well in a team.

Duties include:
• Escorting pupils from classrooms to dining hall
• Supervising hand washing and preparing for lunch
• Supervising children during lunchtimes in school and on the playground
• Encouraging children with food, promoting good manners and healthy choices
• Assisting with clearing tables, wiping down and maintaining cleanliness of the lunch area
• Communicating with pupils, maintaining good behaviour in line with school policies and being willing to arrange and play games

Essential Qualifications: Basic literacy and numeracy skills

This position is paid whole time with retainer adjustments applied to periods of school closure. You will not be required to work during the school closure periods however your salary in these periods will be adjusted accordingly in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement.

Please note that the Childcare Disqualifications Regulations 2009 apply to this position and therefore you are required to complete the “disqualification by association” declaration form. Should you be successful in your application for this post, your appointment can not be progressed without this declaration.
