Our friendly and welcoming school is set at the heart of the local community. A recent Ofsted inspection (January 2017) judged the school to be good. We require a permanent Caretaker from 1st January 2018 (or as soon as possible thereafter). The successful candidate must be flexible in approach and be able to adapt to the changing demands in school.
Main duties include
• Opening and closing the building operating alarm and barrier systems
• Grounds and perimeter upkeep
• Winter gritting and path clearing
• Porterage duties
• Cleaning areas within school
• Managing hygiene and cleaning stock in all areas of school
• Carrying out maintenance and fires systems checks
• Maintaining official fire safety documents and maintenance logs
• Undertake minor repairs
• Maintain heating and cooling systems
• Reporting defects and faults

Please note that the Childcare Disqualifications Regulations 2009 apply to this position and therefore you are required to complete the “disqualification by association” declaration form. Should you be successful in your application for this post, your appointment can not be progressed without this declaration.
This position is whole time i.e.- employees who must work all year around (52 weeks per year), including during school closure periods. These employees will have a leave entitlement of 26 or 31 days which must be taken when the schools are closed. The holiday entitlement runs from April to March, under Green Book terms (i.e. not academic year).

Hours of work:
6.30am-10.30am and
2.30pm-6.00pm (5.30pm on a Friday)
