Windlestone School is seeking to appoint 1 x 7.5 hours Kitchen Assistant. Hours of work will be 12.20-1.50pm Monday to Friday during term time. If you are enthusiastic, dedicated and hardworking and enjoy working in a fast paced environment with young people, this could be the job for you. Duties will include, basic food preparation, cleaning tasks, including washing up (Duties detailed in job description).

Windlestone School is a secondary special school for 80 students all with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) for the Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) area of need.

The kitchen staff has a significant role to play in encouraging our students to eat a healthy diet and make Le Café a welcoming place to be. The successful candidate will have daily contact with the students and be expected to communicate in a friendly and courteous manner.

This position is paid whole time with retainer adjustments applied to periods of school closure. You will not be required to work during the school closure periods however your salary in these periods will be adjusted accordingly in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement.

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
