Supporting with the security of the buildings and their contents including patrolling, the opening and locking of gates/doors and ensuring that windows are locked and secured
Support the undertaking on daily premises inspections, taking actions to prevent accidents and record all findings as appropriate.
Undertake the cleaning of designated areas and undertake the emergency cleaning of other areas as necessary.
Assist in the management of heating systems, including reporting any failures and taking readings as requried.
Supporting the management of Fire Safety, including the management of fire risk assessments, undertaking weekly/termly tests and drills and completing necessary paperwork.
Supporting water hygiene management, including management of the legionella risk assessment, undertaking regular flushing out activities completing necessary paperwork.
To assist staff in ensuring contractors are: aware of asbestos related issues in school, issued with contractors information packs and the completion of contractors responsibilities agreement forms.
Assisting in control, monitoring, ordering and safe storage (COSHH) of cleaning material and supplies used including maintain the COSHH inventory and ensuring COSHH assessments are in place for all substances required.
Ensure that the external areas of the property are kept free of litter and debris, litter and rubbish bins are emptied regularly and main access routes are kept clear of leaves, snow and ice as necessary and support with the weeding of paths, paved areas and gutters etc as required.
Undertake a range of general porterage tasks that ensure the efficient movement of goods, equipment, furniture and other items around the property
Support stock management and help ensure that adequate suppliers of products (e.g. lightbulbs/fluorescent tubes, cleaning materials, toilet rolls, hand towels etc) are available
Assist in the repair and maintenance of the premises and equipment as appopriate
Assist in the removal of all rubbish and broken furniture from the building and to bins or a safe storage area
Comply with the ALP's Health & Safety policy, procedures and risk assessments, using PPE whenever there are risks and that working at height regulations are adhered to.
Play a full part in the life of the ALP, promoting ALP schools positive within the local community and beyond
Undertake other duties and responsibilities as required commensurate with the grade of the post
