The Customer Services Team are looking to recruit a Customer Service Assistant to provide a first point of contact for customers accessing our services through a variety of channels. This post is part time, working 22 hours per week at the Contact Centre, Crook.

The team are looking for an enthusiastic and customer focussed individual, with a positive attitude and the ability to deal with a range of customer enquiries, working with services to ensure their resolution; acting as the customers advocate, where appropriate, and supporting effective service delivery.

An excellent communicator, the post holder will be required to demonstrate tact and diplomacy. The post holder will be the first point of contact for many customers; therefore a good understanding of council services will be beneficial. You will also be expected to deal with a complex range of issues sensitively and confidentially, handling areas of conflict appropriately.

Required Qualifications : 4 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent.

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
