Education Support Officer for EAL pupils - Temporary

Temporary one year, Full time, term time only
Grade 7 £22,401 - £25,463 pro rata

We wish to appoint one temporary Education Officer to the English as an Additional Language (EAL) team.

The post holder will support pupils with EAL, including those with special educational needs, to assist induction and access the school curriculum. The EAL team promotes inclusion and equality of opportunity.

This post is an excellent opportunity to join a small, high functioning team to focus on supporting pupils who are learning EAL. Within the work, there is a strong focus on safeguarding and reducing inequalities.

You will deliver education intervention support packages and collaborate with teachers in schools to ensure those EAL pupils newly-arrived or at risk of underachievement are supported and monitored in their education.

You will work across all key stages (5yrs-16yrs). Home school liaison and home visits are integral to the post.

This post involves travelling across the county each day to work in 5-10 different schools each week. Independent travel is a requirement to fulfil the duties of the post for which mileage is paid.

Do you have experience of supporting children’s educational achievement in educational settings? Do you have a genuine commitment to Equalities? If so, we would welcome your application.

Required qualifications: Educated to degree or equivalent
