North Tyneside Council is looking to fill a vacant position on the Authority’s Independent Remuneration Panel.
The functions of the Remuneration Panel are to prepare recommendations on the Authority’s Members’ Allowances Scheme which sets out the level of payments for the Authority Councillors.
Interested candidates should have experience and/or a reasonable understanding of local government or other public services and have links with North Tyneside either through work or residence. A small yearly allowance and expenses will be paid. Initial appointments are for a three year period with a possible extension of a further two years.
The law prevents applicants who have been a member or officer of the Authority within the past 3 years or who have close business or professional links with the Authority from applying.
