Further Information
The County Council has recently recalibrated its contribution and offer to lead and promote Northumberland as a place where residents and visitors can “live, work and enjoy”. A key part of this strategy is ensuring that we have a strong focus on developing and leading the Tourism & Leisure strategy for the county.
The successful postholder will play a pivotal role in fulfilling the Council’s ambitions of developing its county strategy, ensuring that there is a strong focus on tourism and leisure across Northumberland.
This is a new role within the Council and will be responsible for working in partnership with key stakeholders and colleagues in creating and developing the strategic direction and landscape for the development of tourism and leisure services across the county. Acting as Commissioner Client Lead for tourism and leisure related contractual management arrangements that are currently in place and to seek to develop new opportunities and funding support for tourism and leisure activities in partnership with organisations such as Active Northumberland will ke a key requirement of the role.
The successful postholder will need to ensure that tourism and leisure activities are focused on promoting Northumberland as a proud and passionate county in what it has to offer to both residents and visitors.
