Opportunities have arisen for permanent posts across the following Leisure Centres:

Chester le Street - a total of 9.5 hours are available
Freemans Quay - a total of 30.5 hours are available
Spennymoor - a total of 23.5 hours are available
Woodhouse Close - a total of 12 hours are available

Committed, motivated and enthusiastic Swim Teachers who would like to develop their experience and skills are encouraged to apply.

Flexibility will be considered in respect of how the fulfilling of these hours may be accommodated.

The attached preference form should also be completed and returned.

The successful applicants will be expected to make a significant contribution to the development of our learn to swim programme and must be committed to continuous improvement.

Working as part of a small team, you will be responsible for the delivery of swimming lessons to a wide variety of clients. You must be willing to assist the Aquatics Co-ordinators in the development of the programme and the delivery of a quality service.

Required Qualifications:

ASA Level 2 Teaching Aquatics Qualifications
Willingness to work towards and obtain the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. Please note, a practical swim teaching assessment will be required for those who are successful after the interview stage. This assessment would be held on a later date to be arranged.

Interviews are anticipated to be held week commencing 2nd July 2018.

The post holders may be responsible to various Aquatics Co-ordinators depending upon which site they are working at.
