North Tyneside Council Employment and Skills service are looking for experienced Assessors who are qualified to the highest industry standards in their specific vocational area and have experience of working with adults and young people in a teaching or training role.

The already successful apprenticeship department within Employment and Skills has recently undergone a restructure and is looking to increase the number of apprentices in a range of areas to meet local business needs. In its most recent Ofsted Report it was recognised that the service delivers, “Bespoke and individual apprenticeship programmes for employers and apprentices.”

This is a teaching and assessment role and you will support apprentices and employers with recruitment and selection of apprentices, teach the required skills and attributes according to the framework or standard requirements, assess apprentices in the work place, contribute to whole department targets and achievement rates and work closely with employers to support their requirements. You will be based in North Tyneside and will be required to travel across the borough to various settings whilst assessing apprentices and supporting employers. Successful candidates will join a bank of Casual Assessors to be called upon to deliver in specific vocational areas when demand requires.

We are looking for the following subject areas:
Horticulture
Construction skills

We are looking for someone with good assessment and teaching/training skills, excellent industry experience and training to a high level and an excellent ability to communicate and support young people on their apprenticeship programme.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate, in their application form, practical examples of how they fulfil the person specification.

The posts are various hours, fixed term for 12 weeks.
