Social Care - Adult Service
Horticultural Skills Unit, Hepscott park
The HSU provides instruction and support in horticulture to adults with learning disabilities, and provides physical, personal and emotional care to people who use this service.
You will be part of the team which provides this care and support, and will be required to manage staff rotas, allocate work and supervise the work of the team.
You must be able to work individually or as part of a team to enable and promote independence, minimise intervention and attend to the needs of people who use the service, maintaining a safe, hygienic and supportive environment in accordance with the culture, standards and objectives of the service.
You should have the ability to write, work to and review Individual Service Users Plans, Risk Assessments and Moving and Transferring Plans. You will also be required to produce simple, short and clear case notes as well as working unsupervised as part of a team. It would be an advantage to have an interest in horticulture and experience of working in horticulture.
You must have a good general education demonstrating literacy and numeracy and an NVQ Level 3 in Care. Recent experience of care work with a relevant client group is also necessary.
