St Thomas More RC Academy is seeking to appoint a professional, friendly and reliable individual as our Site Facilities Manager. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Support Services you will be responsible for the day to day management of our facilities, ensuring our Academy meets all health and safety requirements and ensuring excellent standards of building presentation at all times.

The role is varied and diverse and tasks can range from moving furniture, undertaking and supervising planned and reactive maintenance to assistance with whole school facilities development. You will work with the Director of Finance to plan the work of contractors in school, taking responsibility for liaising with contractors and overseeing their work in school.

You will be responsible for managing a small team of caretakers - including those at our partner schools for whom we offer this service. Whilst fulfilling the senior role in the caretaking team you must also be willing and able to undertake your share of these duties.

You will demonstrate the ability to prioritise a busy schedule and deal effectively with students, staff and contractors in a calm and friendly manner.

You may be currently working as a school caretaker, a facilities manager or be someone who has a recognised trade (e.g. electrician, plumber or joiner) and have a broad range of premises maintenance experience. We will welcome applications from candidates with any relevant background.

The post is permanent, 37 hours per week worked over 5 days, Monday to Friday, to be worked across a shift rota between the hours of 6.30am and 6pm. The post holder will be called upon to work evenings and at weekends.

The post will attract overtime enhancements where applicable and 23 days annual leave (rising to 28 days after 5 years service) paid holiday entitlement plus bank holidays and Christmas closure.
